These two are such a sparkly couple – their day could only be magical from start to finish.

We’re in love with the warmth created by their burgundy tones and Hudson’s pretty lights against the starkness of a winter backdrop, their gorgeous photography and that dress! We asked the newlyweds to reflect on the big event with us.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How did you feel when you woke up on your wedding day?

Tessa: I felt quite calm as I knew I was marrying my best friend and the love of my life. I was excited to spend our special day with all our loved ones.

Where did you get ready?

Bennie: Tessa and her girls got ready at the beautiful Wild Mushroom Boutique Hotel. Myself and my boys got ready at Vredenheim Guesthouse.

How did you choose your wedding dress?

Tessa: I went with a bohemian-inspired wedding dress. A combination of elegant and simple with a touch of beautiful lace. Cindy Bam knew exactly what I had in mind before I even said anything.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1572525854621-ebbb06e9-545e-0″ include=”38364,38365,38366,38367″][vc_column_text]Describe your wedding style?

Our wedding style was romantic and elegant with warm tones of burgundy and blush pink, lots of greenery and a touch of gold.

What was your ceremony like?

Our ceremony was very emotional… I don’t think there was one person that didn’t shed a tear or two – happy tears of course![/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1572525854623-41fd733a-8b5e-0″ include=”38368,38369,38370,38371,38372,38373,38374,38375,38376,38377″][vc_column_text]What did you and your guests have to eat at your wedding?

We had chicken breasts stuffed with onion and thyme seasoning wrapped in bacon with white wine sauce as mains, served with roasted veggies and pumpkin fritters. A dessert table laden with a variety of mini desserts was a lovely way to end off the main meal.

Hudson’s note: When Tessa and Bennie visited us for a menu tasting a few months prior to their wedding, they’d pretty much decided beforehand that fillet of beef would be the one for them, but opted to include the chicken dish as an option just in case. The chicken was so scrummy that it won the day, completely to their surprise!

What was your favourite or most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Bennie: Saying “I do” to my best friend, soulmate and lover while all our close friends and family witnessed. Our first dance was also a memorable moment to us as it was extra special.

What was your favourite wedding detail?

We had a caricature artist that entertained our guests for the entire evening and they LOVED it![/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1572525854624-b5251c78-052d-2″ include=”38378,38379,38380,38381,38382,38383″][vc_column_text]What is one thing you would change?

We wished we’d cut the cake when entering the venue.

What is your number one tip for couples still planning their wedding?

Do what makes YOU happy. Don’t do anything just to please someone else.

What were your wedding must-haves?

Definitely a great DJ! Good food was also very important to us.

What was your first dance song and why?

Speechless by Dan & Shay. It was written for a first dance so the words are suited for our occasion. We heard it one morning on the radio and just knew it was our song![/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1572525854625-0288b96b-f17d-8″ include=”38386,38387,38388,38389,38390,38391″][vc_column_text]What was your biggest wedding splurge?

Tessa: Food! It’s definitely a must because you want your guests to have a good meal.

What was your biggest wedding saving?

Bennie: The photo booth, as it was a gift to us.

Did you go on honeymoon?

We haven’t gone on honeymoon yet as we had family and friends from far staying here right after the wedding that we wanted to share time with. We are planning on going to Mauritius next year to have a well-deserved relaxing island holiday.

Anything else you want to say?

Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend… spend it wisely![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Bride’s Directory
