Wedding Flowers & Décor Checklist

When you embark on your wedding planning journey you’ll doubtless be aware of the need for décor and flowers on your big day.

But what exactly does this entail? Far from just a few blooms for each table, there are a whole host of items to consider. Not a single one of these is essential – please remember that. However, there are several things that almost every couple opts to include in their own style. We’ve put together a comprehensive list of what we offer in-house at Hudson’s to help you think over all that you might like and help you understand just what it is we mean when we say “flowers and décor”.

Retinue

  • Bridal bouquet
  • Bridesmaids bouquets
  • Boutonnieres for grooms, groomsmen and father of the bride and groom
  • Ladies lapel or wrist corsages for mother and grandmother of the bride and groom
  • Flower girl baskets decorated with ribbon and filled with petals
  • Flower crowns for bride, bridesmaids or flower girls

Ceremony

  • Draping, flowers and greenery for wedding arch
  • Aisle carpet or petals to decorate aisle
  • Flowers to decorate the chairs next to the aisle – tied to chairs or in buckets on the ground or in jars on bo peep stands lining the aisle
  • Small bamboo parasols for shade
  • Fresh petals or alternative for confetti
  • Free standing vases or similar to hold confetti
  • Personalised signage with quotes or names of couple
  • Large freestanding floral arrangements

Pre-reception drinks

  • Lawn games such as boules, giant jenga and croquet

Reception

  • Tablecloths for all tables: guest, main, cake, gift, DJ and food tables
  • Napkins
  • Detail for napkins such as ribbon, a sprig of herbs, greenery or flowers or a single flower
  • Central mirror base or wooden disc to go underneath centrepiece
  • Charger plates for each place setting
  • Floral centrepieces for guest and main tables
  • Vases or stands for floral centrepieces
  • Lighting for centrepieces, such as fairy lights, uplighters or submersible lights
  • Candle holders and candles for guest and main tables
  • Table numbers or names
  • Mr & Mrs signage for main table

  • Cake stand for cake table
