Brittany & Daneil – A Hudson’s Wedding

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”37914″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

It was during 2011 that Brittany had the opportunity to visit South Africa, travelling from her native country of America, and opted to go to a game reserve.

There she met Daneil, who was working as head ranger, and their first kiss was under the African night sky! That was six years ago and the couple have since relocated to South Carolina, USA, but they knew that they would return to Cape Town for their dream wedding. Thirty five friends and family travelled from the states and joined fifty five locals to celebrate the big day. During their stay the overseas guests were treated to a three night safari at the game reserve where the couple met. We asked the bride to tell us more about their wedding.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Venue & Food

Brittany and Daniel chose the loft venue for their wedding reception – its high bamboo ceiling and incredible views tied perfectly with their vision of an elegant African wedding.

“It was an absolutely stunning setting… like a fairytale.”

Their menu featured local favourites such as bobotie spring rolls and mini boerewors with chakalaka canapés, followed by roast beef and chicken pie served with pumpkin fritters and a classic malva pudding for dessert.

“It was scrumptious… everyone raved about the food!”[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406540-ebae0260-a7a4-2″ include=”37917,37918,37919,37920,37921″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Flowers & Décor

Brittany explained that she wanted her flowers to be vibrant and the décor to have a distinctly African feel. We used proteas combined with a selection of blooms in a range of pinks, yellows and oranges to achieve this. The couple named each table after a safari animal and added a unique ornament to represent this.

“The floral arrangements were breathtaking. We were so pleased with how they came out.” [/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406544-cb398716-29ea-9″ include=”37923,37924,37925,37926,37927″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Dress, Hair & Make-Up

“I chose a small bridal boutique, near where I’m from… an intimate setting with a variety of dresses and top quality service. For my hair and make-up we booked Monique Loren – such a professional and fun person. She did a phenomenal job and we had a great time with her!”[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406546-88aa99eb-0abf-9″ include=”37928,37929,37930,37931″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Photography

The couple made the wise move of booking their service providers exclusively from our recommended list, which always guarantees an amazing wedding experience. Duane Smith was responsible for their beautiful wedding images.

“He captured such incredible moments… top notch photographer!”[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406553-3d146864-b140-0″ include=”37932,37933,37934″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The ceremony

Brittany & Daneil wanted a garden wedding ceremony in the South African sunshine, next to the dam with the mountains in the distance. Troy Goldie was their marriage officer.

“Troy made the ceremony fun and meaningful – exactly what we wanted”[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406555-63d4bfcc-d24e-7″ include=”37936,37937,37938,37939″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The cake

They imagined a safari themed cake and sent some example images to Susan Verwey of what they had in mind.

“She surpassed our expectations. People commented that it was one of the nicest cakes they had ever seen!”[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406559-992efcf9-e298-0″ include=”37940,37941,37942″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The party

DJ Dean provided the sound and music.

“It was the best dance party ever – we had such a blast and Dean knew exactly how to keep everyone on the dance floor!”[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406563-7cdf9679-2e34-9″ include=”37943,37944,37945″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Bride’s Last Word

We feel so blessed that we found Hudson’s – they made our long distance wedding planning so much easier. Not only does Hudson’s have a gorgeous setting, but they have a wedding coordinator and team that helps to plan and execute all of the wedding details. They were essentially an “all-in-one” find – coordinator, venue, fabulous food, bar, flowers and decor, and everything else they had recommendations for. We used all of their recommendations and it turned out fabulously… we had the wedding of our dreams![/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid grid_id=”vc_gid:1557399406565-a89a2546-e947-0″ include=”37947,37948,37949″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Bride’s Directory
