Nicole and Jean-Pierre have recently said “I do” to Hudson’s and will celebrate their wedding in November this year.
We love that we get to work with so many vastly different types of people with varied intriguing occupations. Jean-Pierre is a cloud support engineer for Amazon while Nicole works as a foundation phase educator at a school in Cape Town. We asked them to tell us the love story that led them to planning their wedding with us.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How did you meet?
JP: Nicole and I have actually known each other for about 19 years. We were raised in the same area and our respective parents are family friends that grew up together. We moved in the same circles but only really noticed each other seven years ago!
What’s your engagement story?
Nicole: Jean-Pierre had our friends contact me to invite us to join them for a picnic so that I wasn’t suspicious. They were seemingly the ones making plans. I even checked with him before accepting to make sure we were free. It was a warm Sunny afternoon in January and I was under the impression we were just going to hang out with friends. When we arrived at the wine estate my friend and I went to find our spot while Jean-Pierre and his friend collected our baskets. We were tucking in and enjoying the scenery at this picturesque location when Jean-Pierre politely asked me to stand. On his knee, he took my hand in his, professed his love and asked me to continue our friendship forever. Without hesitation I replied YES! Now I get to marry my best friend and we can continue sharing our dreams, laughs, joys and tears together. Jean-Pierre truly made our engagement a perfect fairytale.
How did you go about venue hunting?
JP: Nicole handled most of the venue review process. I just did all of the driving! Seriously though, we heard about Hudson’s through word of mouth. We had an idea of the type of venue we wanted – close to nature, idyllic and enchanting. Hudson’s offers everything and more so we were able to tick all of our boxes by choosing this venue.
Do you have any advice for couples still looking for venues?
Give yourself enough time to explore different options and keep in mind the time of the year the wedding will be. Make sure that both parties are happy with the choice. It’s a good idea to have the venue handle as much of the planning as possible as this alleviates unnecessary stress.
What part of your wedding are you most looking forward to?
We are looking forward to the wedding ceremony of course and spending the day with our new families and friends. Taking photos in the spectacular garden will definitely be a highlight.
