It’s coming up to a year since we had the huge pleasure of hosting this amazing wedding!

What better way to celebrate this fun and lovely couple’s first anniversary than by remembering all the special details and asking them to tell us about how it happened? Venue & Food

We could not have selected a better venue than Hudson’s – it is absolutely stunning and picture perfect! We loved the food and the presentation was really good.

Flowers & Décor

The flowers and décor were stunning, stunning! Everything we asked for was delivered. We loved the bouquets and the tables and details were on point. We cannot fault anything. It was absolutely amazing!

Nicole & Sammy-Jo opted for long tables dressed with light grey linen tablecloths, sage green napkins and crystal candlesticks. Each table was adorned with a runner of greenery and lots of white blooms with some delicate shades of pale pink and peach. The place settings were completed with parcel string bows and sprigs of fresh fragrant rosemary. The dresses

Nicole: Elisna at House of Silk has an array of absolutely stunning dresses at reasonable prices. The service received was also excellent. There were two types of boleros I had in mind and decided to fit them both in order to decide on one. But I couldn’t choose! Elisna was kind enough to give me both at no extra cost which made my day!

Sammy-Jo: From the moment I walked into house of silk I knew I was good hands. I’m extremely petite and Elisna knew just which gowns would make me feel comfortable and like a queen. As we were two brides she made sure our dresses were compatible without revealing any secrets to either one of us. Photography

We have been following Edό’s work for a while and knew we wanted him to take our photos. He made us feel at ease and he’s absolutely hilarious. He didn’t feel like a stranger but more like a friend that we’d known for years. The photos not only depict the events of the day but also tell a story. The mood and emotions are all captured within the colours and details of the photos – just amazing. The ceremony

The string quartet was organized by a friend of ours, Bronwill. We both selected different songs to walk in on. Nicole’s was at last by Etta James and Sammy’s was how long will I love you by Ellie Goulding. There was no string version available for the song Sammy wanted so Bronwill had to write the music for her! The quartet consisted of 1^st violin, 2^nd violin, viola and cello. They were definitely a highlight of the ceremony.

Our marriage officer was Troy Goldie as recommended by Hudson’s. He was very friendly and also funny. Troy explained everything on our initial visit. He gave us options to choose from with regards to how our ceremony should be conducted and executed it perfectly on the day. The ceremony was light and funny with the right amount of serious moments. We couldn’t have asked for a better marriage officer.

The cake

We wanted a three tier naked carrot cake which we could serve as dessert. Tessa’s Bakery delivered a stunning, tasty cake. It was absolutely yum and easily served our 90 guests. The little details

Roelien and Bianca designed and produced our menus for each place setting. They really out did themselves with the individual touches. Each menu had the respective guest’s name so doubled as a place card. They added a different cartoon character to each of the children’s menus and provided crayons which we thought was just brilliant!

Ronelle from Dazzling Gypsy crocheted the bowties for the maid of honour and best man, as well as covers for the jars holding flowers at our ceremony. The bowties were really unique and added a lot character and style to the suits. She is a talented lady and can crochet anything you can think of!
