Kirsten Peters and Jamaure Trichardt have booked their wedding at Hudson’s for 18th December this year.
Kirsten is a primary school teacher while her fiancé Jamaure is a senior associate with one of the big four audit firms – they make a great team! When we met with this warm, genuine couple to plan their flowers and décor we clicked instantly and couldn’t wait to hear their story.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How did you meet?
Jamaure: We met in 2005 when Kirsten’s family joined my church. After a four year friendship we started dating in 2010.
What’s your engagement story?
Kirsten: In April we went away for a long weekend to Struisbaai. It’s one of our favourite holiday destinations. One evening Jamaure suggested that we have a sunset picnic on the beach. We sat with our picnic basket talking, laughing and watching the sky change colours as the sun set. Then suddenly Jamaure wanted to take a stroll along the beach. In the distance I could see red and white candles flickering. As we approached I saw that the candles were placed in the shape of a heart. In the center of the heart was a bottle of champagne and the words ‘MARRY ME’ written in the sand. Jamaure delivered a heartfelt speech and popped the question I’d been waiting to hear for eight years!
How did you go about venue hunting?
We looked for wedding venues in areas that we liked. Hudson’s was the third venue that we visited. We had mixed feelings regarding our first two selections but when we walked into Hudson’s it just felt right. We loved everything that the venue had to offer. The process was exactly like finding a life partner – as soon as you find the right one, you stop looking!
Do you have any advice for couples still looking for venues?
Have a clear vision of what you want. For less stress choose a venue like Hudson’s that eliminates the need to outsource various elements of your wedding to different companies.
What part of your wedding are you most looking forward to?
Kirsten: I’m so excited to see Jamaure’s reaction when I walk down the aisle. I’m definitely looking forward to the food too. Most importantly of all, I can’t wait to become Jamaure’s wife.
Jamaure: I’m excited to see the culmination of months of effort and planning come together on the day. I also cannot wait to see my beautiful wife-to-be’s face when she sees my reaction as she walks down the aisle!
