It was one of those gorgeous early autumn afternoons – the kind where the soft light turns the mountains pink – when Kym & Paul said their vows to one another during an intimate garden ceremony at Hudson’s.
We already knew this was going to be a particularly lovely wedding when we met the couple late last year to discuss their vision for their big day. Paul’s engaging sense of humour marries beautifully with Kym’s down to earth nature making them a fabulous couple to work with. We asked Kym to share her thoughts on the various aspects of her wedding and the people who made it happen.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Venue & Food
After an April site inspection, Kym and Paul confirmed their booking with Hudson’s during May 2017. They opted for the larger loft venue despite having an exclusive guest list of around 50.
“The venue was just stunning. We could not have asked for a more perfect setting. All of our guests, including many from overseas, said how beautiful the whole day was”.
The couple selected a plated menu with a seared tuna starter served with wasabi mayonnaise and pickled ginger, followed by our fillet of beef with pepper sauce and classic Eton mess for dessert.
“The food was just wow. The steak main was totally delicious, including the sauce. We could not praise the chef and kitchen enough… they were also very accommodating to the vegetarians and children… it was faultless”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”37113″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Flowers & Décor
The couple chose to trust us with all of their floristry and décor set-up.
“It made the whole process so easy and stress free, especially trying to plan it from the UK. They did a mock up table, which was perfect, and sent us photos to approve. They had so many decorations available on site”.
Their choice of roses, proteas, soft pinks and rose gold with a few subtle rustic elements complimented the loft venue’s combination of wood, bamboo and crystal elegantly.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”37115″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hair / Make-up & Dress
Kym couldn’t have been happier with her choice of hair and make-up artist.
“Marilee had a really understated and natural look to a lot of the make-up she did and this was exactly what I wanted. My hair was also kept simple in an up do. She did an amazing job”.
As for the dress, simplicity and elegance were the order of the day. Kym’s gown was very unusual and suited her perfectly.
“I loved the very subtle lace. Eddie was Kym’s priest while she was growing up so it meant a great deal to her and her family that he could officiate.

Kym & Paul made the wise choice to book one our favourite duos and long-time recommended providers – Andre and Selma of Expressions photography.
“We loved their relaxed style. They put us at ease straightaway. Their work was just what we wanted as well – they seemed to capture many of the moments that you would otherwise miss”.
The couple also booked a videography team.
“We took a look at some of Lemonsquare’s work and were completely taken. They were easy to work with and we can’t wait to see the finished product”.
