On a rainy day in March Thandi & Josh said “I do” in front of 90 guests who travelled from all over the world to celebrate their marriage.
Thandi and Josh’s relaxed approach coupled with their vivacious personalities made planning their destination wedding together a fun and easy process – as it should be. The love and care they share for one another was a joy to witness! Here Thandi shares with us about the people and services she hired for their big day, in her own words.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Venue
We could have gone for a venue in the UK where we live but after seeing Hudson’s venue online, we just knew it was where we wanted to get married. Rhiannon was fantastic at answering every question we had in a very calm and professional manner. You can imagine that we had a lot being so far away! The ground floor hall venue was just perfect for our numbers. We particularly loved the chandelier over the dance floor. The lake and surrounding grounds at Hudson’s were just amazing – luscious, green and full of colour. Our photographer was spoilt for choice![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”37048″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Flowers & Décor
We provided Vanessa and Rhiannon with our thoughts with regards to flowers and décor. As we were planning the wedding from the UK it was wonderful that they took the effort to skype call and show us examples of things that we could consider. When we arrived in South Africa to view the mock tables several months prior to the wedding we were so pleased that we didn’t change a thing! Vanessa had managed to capture our vision and incorporate our colour scheme perfectly. We especially loved my bridal bouquet which was just perfect.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”37051″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Make-up
I researched my artist Jenny’s work online and was happy with what I saw so booked a trial. When we met I loved Jenny’s vivacious and fun personality which helped to calm my nerves on our wedding day.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”37053″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Photography / Videography
Riekert Cloete’s facebook and Instagram photos were amazing! I also liked the chatty format of his website. Not only did it provide information but the style in which it was presented was like talking to an old friend. We loved that and had no doubts that he was the right person for our wedding.
Ian of White Motion Films is a calming influence and we cannot wait to see his work. From the work we have previously viewed we are confident that we will not be disappointed.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”37054″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Wedding Ceremony
Troy Goldie was the only marriage officer we considered based on his reviews, vlog and facebook page. Meeting him confirmed that we had made the right choice. He is so personable. On our wedding day, it felt like a family member officiating our marriage.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”37055″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Music / Entertainment
We chose our DJ Mario on a personal recommendation from a family friend. We loved that he was a saxophonist as well as a DJ. Zest played whilst I walked down the aisle and their combination of harp and flute provided a calming and classic feel to the wedding. Firetribe performed our fire blessing that will forever have a special meaning to us. The guests were surprised and loved the show.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”37056″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Bride’s last word
I have learnt that you really need to trust your venue planner and service providers. As a bride to be you may feel like they haven’t thought of something and panic. Remind yourself that they have been doing this for a while and will have a plan B and probably a plan C for anything that doesn’t go according to your plan. Also remember that your guests will not even know if something is missed. Let go and enjoy your day![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
