MEET ONE OF OUR COUPLES:

TASHLEY & CHAD

This week for the first time we introduce you to one of our couples. We accept several new wedding bookings each week and we are just excited as the future bride and groom about every single one! This gorgeous couple captured our attention with their romantic high school sweetheart tale so we asked them to share some of their story so far.

Meet our future bride and groom Tashley Pekeur and Chad Malgas who will tie the knot at Hudson’s venue on 22nd December 2018.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How did you meet?

We grew up in front of each other: in the same neighborhood, in the same street and even attended the same schools. Even though we never appeared to take much notice of one another, trust us, we were very well aware of each other’s existence!

Tashley: According to Chad, the first time he really noticed me in a romantic way was when I was doing the opening scripture reading during a school function. However, due to his extreme shyness, he did not make any effort to make his feelings known to me. Fast forward to high school. Our friends really liked the idea of us as a couple and so pulled out all the stops to get us together. I didn’t mind though. It was nice to move in the same circle as the one responsible for the butterflies in my tummy! Our friends succeeded and my dreams finally came true when I got that first kiss on my birthday in 2005. Although we were still young the feeling was indescribable. I truly felt connected to him from that day onwards. In 2007 we won couple of the year which certainly set the scene for things to come.

Many said that our love would not last but we proved them wrong. We became adults together and as we’ve matured we’ve had the opportunity to share so many unforgettable experiences. It is truly any girl’s dream to have someone loving, caring and committed through ups and downs, someone who will do anything to see a smile on your face.

What’s your engagement story?

Date of engagement: 25th November 2017

Tashley: Chocolate is one of my favorite treats. Chad used this to his advantage to get to where he wanted to be – on one knee. He made a very innovative voucher and planted this inside a Lindt white chocolate. I found the voucher which informed me that I had ‘won’ a trip to the Lindt studio with twelve loved ones. I completely fell for this! He booked out the Lindt chocolate studio at the waterfront and invited our immediate families. While they knew all along, I never suspected anything. After our lovely masterclass with a master chocolatier he romantically proposed and I SAID YES!

How did you go about venue hunting?

Our venue hunting process was quite simple. We identified three potential venues and visited the respective websites to get a brief idea of the service offering. We also considered the reviews of each venue as well as the costs. Hudson’s certainly featured as our most preferred venue! Not only does it provide an intimate atmosphere but it is scenic too and exactly what we were searching for. It ticked all the boxes while still being budget friendly. To be honest, our venue hunting took us less than thirty minutes. We scheduled a viewing and the rest is history! Hudson’s certainly met our expectations and we are extremely excited to wed at this picturesque venue.

Do you have any advice for couples still looking for venues?

Chad: Although this is one of the biggest decisions during the planning phase do not overcomplicate the selection process. Identify five possible venues within your budget. Conduct a thorough online search on the services offered by the venues and consider past reviews. Select the one that is most appealing and do not look back!

Tashley: Do your research thoroughly. Do not commit until you have visited the venue in person and asked the most important questions to you. Once you are satisfied with the information received book immediately! Also, book well in advance. We wanted a certain date but due to popularity the date we wanted was booked already. I would recommend booking at least one to two years in advance.

What part of your wedding are you most looking forward to?

Chad: I’m excited about the entire wedding! The thought of watching my childhood sweetheart walk down the aisle and finally becoming my wife is certainly a part that I’m extremely excited about.

Tashley: Seeing the love of my life waiting for me at the end of the aisle and finally sealing our union where two become one. That’s what I am most excited about.

We can’t wait to host Tashley & Chad’s big day. To get excited about planning your wedding with us get in touch to schedule a viewing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
