As winter approaches and our South African sunshine becomes a little less reliable our brides start to stress about grey skies impacting their big day.
The reality is that there is a chance of rain on any day of the year but there is no need to spoil your planning with weather worries.
Don’t anticipate it
Why do brides research historical average temperatures for their wedding date and Google long range weather forecasts for months in advance? Do yourself a favour and banish this kind of obsessing from your planning schedule! No matter how many times you check – your wedding day weather is predestined. No amount of agonising will change it. Focus your energies on the aspects of the day that you do have a little control over and accept that the weather will be what it will be.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Let your venue take care of it
If you’ve booked a great venue there will be a viable back-up option available for any activities planned for outdoors. At Hudson’s we can hold off the final decision with regards to your ceremony location up until two hours prior to the scheduled start time if needs be. This gives you the best chance of having your first choice set-up. If the weather isn’t playing along but the choice isn’t clear cut, we’ll call you to give your our opinion and discuss what you’d prefer. On the occasions where we do have to implement “plan B” we do it seamlessly taking care of all of the changes for you. We often provide extra candles for added ambience and if it’s chilly too we’ll light a fire to make it even more cosy and romantic. Our indoor ceremony areas have large windows overlooking the garden so you won’t even miss out on the stunning views. In fact some couple love this option so much that they want to make it “plan A”![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Have a great attitude… and an awesome photographer
As with most things on your wedding day your own attitude is key to optimising your experience. If the heavens open don’t let it make you miserable even if you can’t get excited about so-called ‘showers of blessings’. Your day will still be every bit as magical and even more so if you are positive. Pack your gum boots and a couple of umbrellas and get out there as much as possible during your photo shoot. It’s very rare that it rains continuously so make the most of breaks in the weather. Any photographer will tell you that that overcast skies provide the prettiest light and the best ones will get you some truly breath-taking rain shots that could have you wishing for a few drops![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][dt_small_photos category=”rainy-day”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]Whatever the weather your big day is guaranteed to be perfect at Hudson’s venue.
