Every bride needs a true professional to flawlessly create their hair and make-up on their big day.

Since you’ll be spending the precious hours of preparation preceding one of the biggest moments of your life with this person, you’ll want them to be calm, dependable and friendly. You’ll probably never be so frequently admired or intensely photographed at any other time in your life so your appearance on this day is paramount. For years to come you, your spouse and your closest family and friends will look back at the images taken of this momentous occasion. Your hair and make-up artist has an extremely important role to play.

We’re pleased to introduce Monique Naude, owner and artist behind Monique Lorén International Hair and Make-up Artistry. She’s one of the latest suppliers to gain a coveted spot on our recommended suppliers list.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tell us a little more about your company and the service that you offer…

We provide a wide range of customizable hair and make-up services, from beginner makeup lessons to deluxe bridal packages internationally.

How long have you been working in the industry?

Professionally for six years but passionately for ten years.

What price range is your service?

Our bridal packages range from R1000 to R3000 currently.

How many weddings do you estimate you have been involved in?

It’s difficult to guess because I treat each and every one like the most special day ever! However I have had the privilege to have had a part of someone’s fairytale on at least 80 occasions.

What are some of the challenges you face in your industry?

As someone working directly with different personalities the biggest challenge is unrealistic expectations. Too many brides want to look like a Pinterest photo and less like themselves. I believe that looking and feeling like the best possible version of YOURSELF on your wedding day is crucial in order to enjoy the “princess moment” to the fullest.

What makes your service unique?

I believe in tailoring the hair and make-up experience to best suit the individual that I am working with. Each bride is unique and personalizing the service to best fit that specific bride is essential. I have never used a generic hair or make-up model on any of my brides because of that fact.

Tell us about a wedding that you remember and why…

One of the most recent weddings I was able to be part of was that of Cecile Heunis (neé Brits). I don’t often meet brides like Cecile. She only gave me guidelines to follow with her final bridal look at the trial (which took place just a day before the wedding) and then she just trusted me all the way! That is what truly makes me happy and brings out my best work – when clients know what they want but also trust my judgment and creative eye. I always give 100%.

What piece of advice would you most like to offer brides and grooms reading this?

Trials are essential! Meeting up prior to the wedding will allow both of us to put our minds at ease, build trust and custom plan the best possible look for YOU. Professional hair and make-up for photography purposes is very important.

What is your service mission statement?

Just beYOUtiful! It’s not just hair and make-up that counts – it’s confidence too!
