We first knew Brooke was a one in a million bride when she and Lloyd video called us from Montenegro during a lunchtime break from the super yacht they were working on in September last year.
There was no hesitation as Brooke told us that she wanted everything to be glamorous and over the top! Since that moment we’ve known that we wanted to blog this wedding and happily Brooke was keen to share her wedding experience too. These two are a striking couple – both in looks and personalities. We’ll be following their adventure as it unfolds and we’ll never forget planning their extraordinary wedding with them.
Venue & Food
Brooke put all of her trust in us without ever having even visited South Africa let alone Hudson’s. Our fairy tale setting, gorgeous chandeliers and ceiling full of magical fairy lights appealed. Hectic international work schedules meant all planning had to be done remotely.
“The venue was spectacular! The value was incredible and the process was made really easy”.
The couple selected a plated menu starting with pork belly strips with a delicious lime and chilli marmalade followed by our famous fillet of beef with chef’s pepper sauce. Dessert was crème brulee served with melt in the mouth shortbread.
“Our guests loved the food. It was definitely one of the talking points after the wedding”.
Flowers & Décor
Brooke wanted overstated lavish displays of glorious flowers in white and pinks dripping with crystals and pearls. We had so much fun going all out with Brooke’s brief and imported a selection of hydrangeas to achieve the look. We were also mandated to create the couple’s candy buffet. For this we used an abundance of fresh rose petals and candles with the whole table being framed by an elaborate balloon arch.
“Hudson’s team worked really closely with us. We had a particular look in mind and they really did everything to help us achieve it”.
The couple choose an amazing photographer with a unique style and a huge following. We can’t wait to see more of Kikitography at Hudson’s.
“We loved their style and the mood of previous shoots. We were relaxed and PC made the shoot feel natural”.
Brooke flew to her home country of Australia to collect her dress which was made exclusively for her by a Project Runway Australia finalist.
“Leah Da Gloria is the best in the industry and made my dream dress”.
Ceremony / Marriage Officer
Brooke and Lloyd made their vows to one another in a breath taking Hudson’s garden ceremony officiated by our favourite marriage officer Troy Goldie. Many of their 70 guests made the trip from Australia and other parts of South Africa.
“Troy was so helpful from start to finish. He had a great sense of humour”.
